Last weekend was the Event 2 of 5 for the NSW state championship. Once again it took place at Gerroa, 7 Mile beach. With an exceptional forecast of long period southerly swell and 25kt sea breezes for the Saturday everything was looking promising for a great day’s competition

Australian Windsurfing Association Inc10 June2011

The International Windsurfing Association (IWA) has requested two representatives from Australia, to compete in the Inaugural Beach Games to be held at the stunning location of Club Faru in the Maldives from 18^th-25^th September 2011.

The event is invitation only, and is to be raced on supplied and new Mistral One Design equipment.

The Australian Windsurfing Association (AWA) is pleased to announce that based on the 2011 Raceboard Oceanic Championship results, John Demol (1^st ranked) and Benjamin Morrell (3^rd ranked) will be representing Australia.The AWA would also like to take this opportunity to wish James Grunfelder (2^nd ranked) and the other Australian representatives the best of luck at the Raceboard Worlds, to be held at L’Hospitalet de l’lnfant, Tarragona, Spain, from 3^rd-10^th September 2011

NSW Windsurfing Series Heat 6 – Results

The final Heat 6 of the NSW Windsurfing Series, is this weekend at VALENTINE- Lake Macquarie. Saturdays racing will be followed by a prize giving dinner at the Lake Macquarie Yacht Club. Everyone is welcome to attend including kids.

Sunday will be the 1st “round the Island” race. Details will be given at Saturdays briefing.

20knots a for a week before, 20knots a week after, NOTHING in the middle. Very tough organising a windsurfing event when the weather is not playing cricket. Still great to see so many new faces joining in the Formula circus.
It is also a great time to get some practice in for the Oceanics to be held in the first week of Feb at beautiful Hawks Nest. It looks like it is going to be a fantastic event at an amazing location. Check http://www.fw-australia.com/ for further details.
Accomodation is filling fast so get your skates on.
If people could register online as soon as possible, it helps the organisers budget and book events if they know how many people to expect.

–Buoyancy aids are mandatory in NSW

–Sail Numbers need to be applied to all sails you are using while racing. If the finisher cannot clearly identify your sail number you will not get a result.
